Privacy Policy

Last updated 1 November 2026

This policy covers the AutoGig website at www.autogig.io, the AutoGig dashboard at app.autogig.io, and the AutoGig extension for Chrome, published on the Chrome Web Store. AutoGig is operated by Sengar Consultancy. Questions and requests go to hello@autogig.io.

What the extension does

The AutoGig extension works inside your own Chrome. You connect it to your AutoGig account from its side panel: it opens the Connect page on app.autogig.io, where you sign in, and the dashboard gives the extension a sign-in session of its own (it does not copy your dashboard session). Nothing runs until you switch bidding on in the side panel.

Then, on the interval you pick in the side panel, while Chrome is open, it reads your profiles, Upwork search and limits from your dashboard, opens one Upwork tab of its own while you are signed in to Upwork, opens your Upwork search, reads a job post and the client details on it, screens the job, asks AutoGig to write a proposal and fills in the proposal form. With “Fill the proposal, I press Send” it stops there and leaves the tab open for you. With “Send proposals automatically”, which you must confirm first, it also submits the proposal, and AutoGig lets it send only when your dashboard settings allow (the pause switch, the schedule and the daily caps).

Its Chrome permissions are storage, alarms, scripting and the side panel, with access to upwork.com and to AutoGig's backend (hosted on Supabase). It runs its script only in the Upwork tabs it opens itself and on the dashboard's Connect page, not in Upwork tabs you open, and it does not read your other browsing.

For our own agency's account, Upwork message threads are also synced into a client dashboard (the CRM add-on), and for yours too if we set the CRM add-on up for you. The extension's own chat sync works only on our own agency's account.

Before the extension, the AutoGig bot was a workflow file you downloaded from your dashboard and imported into the free Automa extension. If you still run one, it does the same work on a timer while Chrome is open, and what it collects and posts is described below as an older workflow file.

What we collect

  • Your AutoGig account: your email address, your plan, and the settings you save in the dashboard. The extension keeps its sign-in session, your side-panel settings, its activity log and a list of the jobs it has already handled in its own storage in your browser.
  • Bidding activity: for each job the extension sends or skips with automatic sending on (or an older workflow file acts on), the job title, link and description, the client details Upwork shows on the job page (country, hire rate, average hourly rate paid, rating, number of reviews, total spent), the rate asked, the proposal text, which of your freelancer profiles bid, the Connects balance shown on the page, and whether the job was sent, skipped or screened out, with the reason. For a proposal it sends, the extension also records the job's listed skills and the proposal's Upwork link. With “Fill the proposal, I press Send”, the job description goes to AutoGig to write the proposal, but nothing is logged to your history.
  • Screening questions: when a job asks screening questions, the extension reads them in your browser and fills in the answers: the GitHub URL on your profile and short stock answers (an older workflow file fills them from your profile and the file itself). The questions are not sent to us.
  • Synced conversations (CRM add-on accounts only): message transcripts, the client's name and profile statistics, files shared in the conversation, and the client's profile photo when it appears on a message they wrote.
  • Your browser as a bot instance: for the extension, a random identifier it creates and the user-agent string your browser sends; for an older workflow file, an identifier built from your browser's user-agent string and screen size. Since 18 October 2026 AutoGig records no IP address, city or country when a bot instance registers or checks in, and each check-in clears any it recorded before.
  • Website and dashboard visits: www.autogig.io and app.autogig.io use Google Analytics, which sets cookies and records the pages you visit, your device and browser, and your approximate location. The dashboard also records when you create an account.

We do not collect your Upwork password, your Upwork cookies or session, your payment card details, or your browsing outside the Upwork tabs the extension opens. Like any website, our hosting providers and Google Analytics receive your IP address when you connect.

How we use it

  • To run the features you switched on: choosing jobs, screening them, writing proposals and sending them.
  • To enforce the limits you set in the dashboard: the pause switch, daily bid and spend caps, and the schedule.
  • To show you your activity and your synced clients in the dashboard.
  • To send you account emails: sign-in links, your trial and billing notices.
  • To see how visitors use the website and dashboard, through Google Analytics.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to decide anyone's creditworthiness.

Who processes it for us

  • Supabase hosts the AutoGig database, files and server functions.
  • Vercel hosts the website and the dashboard.
  • Anthropic writes proposals: the job description and the proposal instructions you configured are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to draft each proposal. For CRM add-on accounts, synced conversations are also sent to Claude to rate how warm each client is and to draft replies.
  • Flock (our team chat): for our own agency's account, AutoGig posts each proposal the extension sends to a Flock channel our team reads. For other accounts the extension asks for no such post. When a logged run shows fewer than 100 Connects left, AutoGig posts the profile name and the Connects count to a Flock channel our team reads. An older workflow file posts each job it bids on: the basic bot posts the job link; the agency bot posts the job title and links, the profile and agency name that bid, the client's statistics (rating, number of reviews, hire rate and total spent), the job's budget, the rate it asked, the client's average hourly rate paid, the Connects left and the proposal it sent, and for a job it skips, the job title and link, the profile, the reason and any warning signs it found.
  • Resend sends account emails.
  • Google measures visits to the website and the dashboard (Google Analytics) and serves the fonts of the product reel (Google Fonts).
  • Stripe takes payment when you buy a plan. We don't see your card number.

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. We share your data only with the processors listed here, and where the law requires it.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

  • Your account, settings and bidding activity: while your AutoGig account is open. When you close it or ask us to delete it, we delete them within 30 days.
  • Synced conversations (CRM add-on accounts only): while the add-on is set up for you. When it is switched off, or you ask, we delete them within 30 days.
  • Account emails: Resend keeps its sending logs for the period its own policy sets. Visit data: Google Analytics keeps it for the retention period set on our Google Analytics property.
  • Payments: Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.

Email hello@autogig.io from your account's address to get a copy of your data or to have your account and its data deleted. Signing out of the extension or removing it deletes the session stored in your browser.

If you are a client of someone who uses the CRM add-on

The CRM add-on runs on our own agency's account today, and on yours if we set it up for you. On those accounts, the Upwork conversations the freelancers have with their clients are synced into a client dashboard. If you are one of those clients, that means your messages, your name and the profile statistics Upwork shows, files shared in the conversation, and your profile photo when it appears on a message you wrote. The freelancer or agency you are talking to uses them to keep track of the conversation, and the messages are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to rate how warm the conversation is and to draft replies. For our own agency's conversations we use this data ourselves; if we set the add-on up for another freelancer or agency, we hold their conversations for them. We keep it as described above.

To ask what we hold about you, to object, or to have it deleted, email hello@autogig.io with the Upwork name you use.

Your Upwork account

The extension acts on your Upwork account in your own browser. Upwork restricts bots and automation and may warn, restrict or block accounts that use them. You are responsible for how you use AutoGig. AutoGig is not affiliated with or endorsed by Upwork.
