Follow these steps to install AutoGig's auto-bidding bot on your machine. You'll be sending AI-crafted proposals on autopilot within minutes.

⚡ Before You Start

1

Install the Automa Extension

~1 minute

AutoGig runs on top of Automa, a free Chrome automation extension. This is the engine that drives the auto-bidding.

Instructions

  1. Open Chrome and go to the Chrome Web Store
  2. Search for "Automa" (by AhmedSoliman)
  3. Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm the installation
  4. You'll see the Automa icon (a robot) appear in your Chrome toolbar
  5. Pin it to the toolbar for easy access

Import the AutoGig Workflows

~1 minute

You received two workflow files with your welcome email. Import both into Automa.

Instructions

  1. Click the Automa icon in your Chrome toolbar to open it
  2. In the Automa dashboard, click the import icon (arrow pointing down) at the top
  3. Select the file: autogig-setup.json — this is the one-time setup workflow
  4. Import again and select: autogig-autobid.json — this is the auto-bidding bot
  5. You should now see both workflows listed in your Automa dashboard
📦

Don't have the files? Check your welcome email, or contact us at hello@autogig.io and we'll resend them.

3

Activate Your License Key

~30 seconds

Run the setup workflow once to link your machine to your AutoGig account.

Instructions

  1. In Automa, find the "AutoGig Setup" workflow
  2. Click the play button ▶ to run it
  3. A prompt box will appear — paste your license key and click OK
  4. Wait a few seconds for validation
  5. You'll see a success message: "License key validated!"

Your license key is in your welcome email. It looks like a long string of letters and numbers, e.g. c6de3f2ab9e2...

One key per machine. If you use AutoGig on multiple computers, contact us for additional license keys. Do not share your license key.

4

Set Up Your Upwork Job Feed

~2 minutes

AutoGig bids on jobs from your Upwork Saved Jobs feed. You need to set up your job search preferences and save the jobs you want to bid on — or let Upwork's RSS feed auto-populate.

Option A: Manual Save (Recommended for Beginners)

  1. Go to upwork.com and log into your freelancer account
  2. Search for jobs that match your skills (e.g., "React Developer")
  3. Apply your preferred filters: budget range, hourly/fixed, experience level, etc.
  4. Click the heart icon ❤ on each job you want to bid on to save it
  5. AutoGig will pick up these saved jobs and submit proposals automatically

Option B: RSS Feed Auto-Save (Recommended for Autopilot)

  1. On Upwork, set up your job search with filters (skills, budget, job type)
  2. Click "Save Search" so Upwork remembers your criteria
  3. Enable email/RSS notifications for new matches
  4. Use the Upwork RSS feed URL with a free tool like IFTTT or Zapier to automatically save matching jobs
  5. AutoGig will automatically bid on all newly saved jobs
💡

Pro tip: Start with 5–10 saved jobs to test. Once you're happy with the proposals, ramp up the volume. Your AI proposal prompt can be customized from your AutoGig dashboard.

5

Start the Auto-Bidding Bot

~10 seconds

You're all set! Start the bidding bot and let it work.

Instructions

  1. In Automa, find the "upbid" workflow (or "AutoGig Auto-Bid")
  2. Click the play button ▶ to run it
  3. The bot will open Upwork, go to your saved jobs, and start bidding
  4. Each proposal is generated by AI, personalized to the specific job
  5. Keep Chrome open while the bot runs — it needs the browser to interact with Upwork

To Run on a Schedule (Hands-Free)

  1. In Automa, click on the "upbid" workflow to open it
  2. Click the trigger node (the first block)
  3. Change trigger type from "Manual" to "Interval"
  4. Set the interval (e.g., every 60 minutes)
  5. Save the workflow — it will now run automatically at your set interval

Keep Chrome running. The bot needs an active Chrome browser window. You can minimize it, but don't close Chrome. For 24/7 operation, consider running Chrome on a VPS or always-on desktop.

🎉

That's it! You're live. AutoGig is now auto-bidding on your saved Upwork jobs with AI-crafted proposals. Check your Upwork "My Proposals" tab to see submitted bids.

Troubleshooting

The bot starts but doesn't bid on any jobs
Make sure you have saved jobs on your Upwork account. Go to Upwork → Find Work → save some jobs by clicking the heart icon. The bot bids on your saved jobs list. Also check that you have enough Upwork Connects available.
"License key invalid" error during setup
Double-check that you pasted the full key with no extra spaces. Your key should be a 48-character string. If it still doesn't work, your key may have been deactivated — contact us at hello@autogig.io.
The bot stops mid-run or shows an error
This can happen if Upwork shows a Cloudflare challenge (CAPTCHA). The bot tries to handle these automatically, but occasionally you may need to solve one manually. Simply complete the challenge in Chrome and restart the workflow. If errors persist, check your internet connection and try again.
Proposals look generic or low quality
Your AI proposal prompt is fully customizable. Log into your AutoGig dashboard, go to Settings, and edit the Proposal Prompt. Add context about your skills, experience, and preferred style. Use the "Test Prompt" button to preview proposals before saving.
Can I run this on multiple computers?
Yes! Each computer needs its own license key. Your plan determines how many keys you can have — Starter: 1, Pro: 3, Agency: unlimited. Contact us to generate additional keys, or manage them from your dashboard.
How do I stop the bot?
Three ways: (1) Click the stop button in Automa, (2) Toggle bot OFF from your AutoGig dashboard — the bot will stop within 2 minutes, or (3) Simply close Chrome. We recommend using the dashboard toggle for a clean stop.
Can I run the bot 24/7?
Yes — you'll need Chrome running at all times. Many users run AutoGig on a cloud VPS (like a $5/month DigitalOcean droplet with a desktop environment) or on an old laptop that stays on. Contact us and we can help you set up a VPS.
